Score: The Podcast lands on Apple's New & Noteworthy List

Score: The Podcast debuts April 3, 2018.

The free entertainment and music show Score: The Podcast has landed on Apple's prestigious New & Noteworthy List just two weeks into its launch.

Based on the award-winning film Score: A Film Music Documentary, Score: The Podcast has already climbed the iTunes charts as a Top Ten TV/Film Podcast and now adds the "New & Noteworthy" honor as well.

The first several episodes of Score: The Podcast have resulted in news coverage from websites and blogs for major announcements related to famous film and TV franchises, including James Newton Howard's involvement in future Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, Brian Tyler's music for Crazy Rich Asians, and Ramin Djawadi's commentary on the unreleased new season of Westworld on HBO.

With unrivaled access and the unique spin of being recorded inside the composers’ own studios, Score: The Podcast will feature live conversation, music, pre-produced segments called "Behind the Score," and an interactive gameshow dubbed “Name That Score,” in which listeners can play along to win soundtracks and autographed prizes.

Score: The Podcast is hosted by Robert Kraft, film music veteran and former President of Fox Music, and Kenny Holmes, a national award-winning journalist — both producers of the acclaimed documentary. It is executive produced by the film's director, Matt Schrader, who also hosts the weekly trivia segment "Name That Score."

Previous guests have included John Debney (Passion of the Christ, Elf, The Jungle Book, Liar Liar, The Greatest Showman), Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Martian, Chronicles of Narnia, The Town, Kingdom of Heaven, Man On Fire) and James Newton Howard (The Dark Knight, King Kong, Signs, The Fugitive, The Hunger Games). Episodes with composers Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim) and Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious series, Marvel films, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

Score: A Film Music Documentary was one of the top documentaries of 2017, according to iTunes and Amazon, and was released theatrically in a dozen major regions around the world.

“Film composers are the Mozarts and Beethovens of our generation,” said Holmes, who was co-director of photography and editor of the 2017 documentary.

“This podcast is an opportunity to share so much more about this incredible art form with the world,” said Matt Schrader, who directed the documentary and will oversee Score: The Podcast as executive producer.
